The
Cwmtillery Ward is a geographically quite widespread ward covering the
northern part of the urban area of Abertillery. On its north-eastern
borders is the second highest point in the old county of Gwent, Mynydd
Coity, at 1905 feet. Within it,
the settlements to the west in the Ebbw Fach valley are Arael View,
Bournville and Rose Heyworth, those in Cwm Tyleri
(Tillery valley) to the east are Cwmtillery,
Pen-y-bont and Valley View, whilst covering the
lower slopes of the mountain between them (Mynydd James) is
Blaenau Gwent. |
